Becky Richardson has worked here in Readsboro since 2003.  She received her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Greenfield Community College in Greenfield, MA and her Bachelor's Degree, also in Early Childhood Education, from Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, MA.  Her favorite thing about teaching is when students get excited about something new that they have learned, whether that be learning to read or write, or getting involved in an ongoing project such as interviewing school workers about what they do and presenting what they have discovered to an audience.  When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her daughter as well as the rest of her family.  Swimming, reading, hiking, and traveling are some of her favorite activities.

Ms Saldo has always had a passion for art, and it has been her goal to become a teacher. She has been teaching for Pittsfield Public Schools in MA for the past 3 years: her first year as a substitute for Conte Elementary and for the past 2 years she has been the art teacher at Reid Middle School. She follows in the footsteps of her mother, who is also an Art teacher and has taught for Pittsfield as well for 15 years at the Middle and High School levels. Previous to teaching Ms Saldo attended Bennington College where she studied a variety of media, taking every art class she could fit into her schedule, with her major being in Ceramics, Painting, and Sculpture. In addition to teaching, Ms Saldo is an artist herself; she is a woodfire ceramicist and painter who sells her artwork and pottery and spends her summers working on her own art. She is passionate about sharing her love of the arts, emphasizing how important the arts are, and encouraging the creativity and exploration of her students.
